Bambu Lab gives a 2-year warranty on printers and AMS units bought from Bambu Store US or Bambu Store CA, and 1 year in most other countries. A few parts such as the extruder unit get 3 months, and the hotend, nozzle and build plates get none.
A Bambu Lab printer or AMS filament system bought from Bambu Store US has a 2-year limited warranty against manufacturing and workmanship defects. The extruder unit and a few other parts get 3 months, and the hotend, nozzle and build plates get none. For a printer bought from a retailer such as Micro Center or Best Buy, Bambu Lab’s policy does not clearly say whether the 2 years apply.
This summary follows Bambu Lab’s warranty statement (last updated September 22, 2026) and its per-series part tables as published on October 23, 2026. It is not legal advice.
How long is the Bambu Lab warranty?
The Bambu Lab warranty lasts 2 years for consumers in the United States, Canada, the EU, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland, and 1 year elsewhere. In the US and Canada, the policy ties the 2 years to Bambu Store purchases. Every printer series and AMS unit gets the same period, but a few parts get only 3 months.
The clock starts on the day you receive the product. Three rules move that date:
- A unit replaced under the 30-day replacement policy gets a new warranty that starts when you receive the replacement.
- A replacement part does not reset anything: “the original warranty period still applies.”
- Time away for repair is added back. The warranty is “paused” while the product travels to Bambu Lab, is repaired or replaced, and travels back to you.
Where local consumer law sets a longer period than Bambu Lab’s, the statement says “the longer warranty period will apply.”
Is the Bambu Lab warranty 1 year or 2 years?
Two years for a printer bought from Bambu Store US or Bambu Store CA. Both countries had 1 year until Bambu Lab moved them to 2 years, a change it announced on August 17, 2026 and wrote into the statement it dates September 22, 2026. A Bambu Store printer still inside its first year when the change took effect now runs 2 years from its original start date. One whose first year had already ended was not extended.
For any other purchase, Bambu Lab’s two texts disagree. The August 17 forum announcement says “all printers now enjoy 2-year warranty coverage” in the US and Canada. The warranty statement’s transitional note is narrower: the extension “applies only to Products purchased by consumers through Bambu Store US and Bambu Store CA.”
That leaves a retailer purchase without a clear answer. The per-series part tables also still head the printer row “12 Months”, so if support quotes 12 months on a US Bambu Store printer, point to the transitional note.
What is the warranty on the A1, P1S, X1C, H2D, P2S and X2D?
Every model gets the same period: 2 years from Bambu Store US. Only the list of parts that drop to 3 months differs by series.

Maker’s Supply items such as hardware kits and MakerLab accessories get 3 months on every series except the X2D, whose table does not list them. No model’s hotend, nozzle, extruder gear assembly, build plates or filament cutter has any warranty. Bambu Lab hotend and parts warranty lists every part by series.
What does the Bambu Lab warranty cover?
The Bambu Lab warranty covers failures from manufacturing errors or workmanship, and damage to a normally used product that the customer did not cause. It excludes accidents, misuse, missed maintenance and damage from third-party accessories or unofficial firmware. Consumables such as the hotend, nozzle and build plates carry no warranty at all.
Bambu Lab may still replace a consumable that fails from a manufacturing defect while the printer is covered, at its discretion.
Bambu Lab will not repair under warranty when:
- the failure comes from an accident, a drop, abuse, misuse, liquid, fire or “incorrect electrical charge”
- the printer was used outside the purposes Bambu Lab permits
- the product was modified to significantly alter what it does, without Bambu Lab’s written permission
- maintenance in Bambu Lab’s Maintenance Guides was skipped, done late or done wrong
- installation or operation went against Bambu Lab’s manuals or on-screen warnings
- the damage is wear or scratches that do not affect performance
- labels or serial numbers show tampering
- there is no proof of purchase, or it looks forged
- an unauthorized service center worked on it without Bambu Lab’s approval, which voids the warranty
How far the third-party exclusion reaches for upgrades is answered in does upgrading void the warranty. If a printer gives off smoke, makes abnormal noises or has parts coming loose, power it off and contact support at once: damage from running it on is not covered. Bambu Lab also does not support cross-regional service, so a printer taken to another country is repaired and shipped at your cost.
Is the Bambu Lab warranty transferable?
Bambu Lab’s warranty statement does not say whether the warranty transfers to a new owner. The period runs “from the date of receiving the product from the original customer”, only receipts from Bambu Lab or authorized distributors are valid, and it covers individual customers only. A second owner should get the original receipt and ask support in writing.
So the clock does not restart for a second owner, and any claim rests on the first buyer’s purchase record. Bambu Lab publishes no ownership-transfer procedure. If you are buying a used Bambu Lab printer, get these from the seller:
- The original receipt or invoice from Bambu Store or an authorized reseller. A missing or doubtful proof of purchase is one of the statement’s reasons to refuse repair.
- The delivery date, which is when the warranty started.
- The serial number, matched against the label on the printer. Labels or serial numbers that show tampering rule out repair.
- The original box and packing. Warranty returns must ship in the original packaging or in packaging Bambu Lab approves. Poor packing can bring extra charges or a refusal to cover the damage it caused.
- A printer sold for your region. Bambu Lab sells regional versions, and one from another region may not bind to your account or use cloud printing and remote viewing.
Then open a ticket at bambulab.com/support with the serial number and receipt, ask whether Bambu Lab will honor the remaining warranty for you, and keep the written reply.
Does the Bambu Lab warranty cover Micro Center and Best Buy purchases?
Yes. Micro Center and Best Buy are both on Bambu Lab’s list of authorized resellers, so their receipts count as proof of purchase. But returns and warranty parts go through the store, and the policy does not clearly give their buyers 2 years.
Returns and replacements follow the store’s own policy: for products bought from “Resellers”, the statement says “you shall follow their individual return and replacement policies.” For repairs, Bambu Lab’s support wiki says it “can provide technical support for troubleshooting issues, but if part replacements are required to be provided under warranty, the authorized reseller is responsible to provide them.” So Bambu Lab diagnoses the fault, and the store supplies the warranty part.
Because the transitional note names only Bambu Store purchases, ask the store which period it honors, 1 year or 2, and get the answer in writing.
From a seller that is not on Bambu Lab’s reseller list, Bambu Lab will help troubleshoot and sell you parts, but says “We are unable to provide replacement parts under warranty.” Warranty support then has to come from the seller.
How do you claim or extend the Bambu Lab warranty?
Open a ticket at bambulab.com/support with the receipt and photos, videos or log files that show the fault. In the first 30 days after delivery, a Bambu Store printer with a critical failure or manufacturing defect can be returned for a refund or replaced instead of repaired. The full steps are in how to make a Bambu Lab warranty claim. Bambu Lab does not sell an extended warranty in the US; the details are on Bambu Lab extended warranty.
