A QIDI 3D printer bought in the US is covered for 1 year from the day it arrives, and its hotend, nozzles, extruder, belts and build plate are consumables with no warranty. This page summarizes QIDI's Warranty Statement dated June 4, 2026, and the claim route.
A QIDI 3D printer bought in the US has a 1-year warranty from the day it arrives. The hotend, nozzles, extruder, belts and build plate count as consumables and have no warranty.
To claim, email the after-sales address for your printer model with proof of purchase and photos or video of the fault. QIDI diagnoses the problem by email first and sends free parts for a covered fault. You ship the printer back only after QIDI approves a return or replacement.
The terms below come from QIDI Tech’s Warranty Statement (last updated June 4, 2026) and Return & Refund Policy (last updated June 9, 2026), checked on October 23, 2026. QIDI promises at least 14 days’ notice on its website before a material change. This is not legal advice.
How long is the QIDI warranty?
The QIDI warranty lasts 1 year from the day you receive the printer, for consumers in the United States and most other countries. Consumers in the EU, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland get up to 2 years, as local law requires. The hotend, nozzles, extruder, belts, build plate and other consumable parts have no warranty period.
| Part |
Warranty in the US |
| The printer: every part not on the consumables list |
1 year from the date of receipt |
| Hotend, nozzles, extruder, belts, PTFE tubes, build plate, filament cutter, scrapers, wipers |
None (consumables) |
The mainboard, touchscreen and motors are not on the consumables list, so they get the printer’s 1 year. The list ends in “etc.”, so QIDI can class other wear parts as consumables.
Consumables that fail from a manufacturing defect rather than wear, while the printer is still in warranty, are the one exception: QIDI “may replace them at its discretion” and “reserves the final right of decision.”
Three rules set the dates:
- The year starts on the date of receipt, not the order date.
- It pauses while the printer is in transit to QIDI, under repair or on its way back, and is extended by the days it was away.
- A replacement unit’s warranty starts when the replacement arrives.
Where a country’s consumer law requires a longer period, QIDI says it “will comply with local regulations.”
Two shorter windows run in the first month:
- 14 days from receipt: return. For a defective printer, transit damage with carrier proof, or an unopened, unactivated unit. Orders from QIDI’s web store can also be returned within 14 days for no reason.
- 30 days from receipt: replacement. For transit damage, a wrong item or a critical defect.
QIDI’s FAQ page still says “30-day return”, but both dated policies give 14 days.
Do the Plus4, Q2, Q1 Pro and QIDI Box have their own warranty?
No. The Plus4, Q2 and Q1 Pro get the same 1 year as every “QIDI printer” in the Warranty Statement, and QIDI’s US store shows “1-Year Coverage” on each of their product pages. The QIDI Box, the multi-color unit for the Plus4, Q2, Q2C, Max4 and Plus5, has no published period.
| Product |
Warranty in the US |
| Plus4 |
1 year |
| Q2 and Q2C |
1 year |
| Q1 Pro |
1 year |
| Plus5, Max4, X-Max 3 and other QIDI printers |
1 year |
| QIDI Box |
No period stated |
The statement’s period table names only two products, “QIDI printer” and “Consumable parts”. The Box’s US store page also lacks the warranty badge the printer pages carry. The coverage clause speaks of “a product”, so the Box falls under the policy, but QIDI does not publish how long. Before relying on it, ask QIDI support to confirm the period in writing.
What does the QIDI warranty not cover?
Besides consumables, the Warranty Statement excludes:
- accident, abuse, misuse, dropping, incorrect power supply or liquid getting in
- failure to operate, install or maintain the printer as the official manuals say
- unauthorized modification, disassembly or repair
- altered, damaged or removed labels, serial numbers or water damage indicators
- damage from third-party accessories, unofficial firmware or unofficial modification tools
- cosmetic wear, such as scratches, that does not affect function
- fire, flood, lightning, earthquake and other force majeure
For whether third-party parts or firmware void the rest of the warranty under US law, see does upgrading a 3D printer void the warranty.
Three more clauses put duties on the owner:
- Maintenance. QIDI may refuse or charge for a repair when “the user failed to perform regular maintenance as recommended.”
- Transit damage. Report it on receipt, with carrier proof.
- Warning signs. If the printer smokes, makes abnormal noises or parts come loose, power it off and contact support at once. Failing to do so “may void warranty coverage for resulting damages.”
QIDI “does not support cross-regional warranty service.” A printer taken to another country, or serviced outside its original region, is repaired at the owner’s cost. QIDI also asks buyers to get the version made for their region, because of wireless module restrictions.
The statement “applies to individual consumers” and sets no separate terms for business buyers.
Does QIDI honor the warranty on Amazon purchases?
Yes, when the seller is QIDI’s own store on Amazon or an authorized reseller. QIDI’s after-sales policy applies only to products bought from “Qidi Official Website, Qidi Direct Store on shopping website such as Amazon, AliExpress, eBay, and Qidi’s authorized reseller.” A printer from any other seller is outside that scope.
Returns differ by channel: a reseller purchase falls under “that reseller’s return policy” instead of QIDI’s 14-day web-store return.
The policy does not mention transferring the warranty to a second owner. Every claim needs proof of purchase, so a used printer without the original order details cannot qualify.
How to make a QIDI warranty claim
- Collect proof of purchase. QIDI accepts the online order number from QIDI or an authorized reseller, a sales invoice, or a dated reseller receipt that shows the product and its price.
- Record the fault. Take photos and a video of the problem and save any log files. QIDI’s return requests also ask for the serial number.
- Email the address for your printer. The after-sales page lists one or two addresses per model (table below). It lists none for the QIDI Box, so use the address for the printer the Box feeds.
- Follow the email diagnosis. QIDI “will attempt to diagnose and resolve your problem by e-mail” and may ask you to install software updates. If that fails and the fault is covered, it sends replacement parts free of charge. For “a major failure caused by manufacturing defects”, it decides on a partial refund, full refund or replacement printer “depending on the degree of failure.”
- Ship back only when told. Once QIDI approves a return or replacement, you have 14 calendar days to ship to the address support gives you. Miss that deadline and you give up the claim. Use the original box and packing, or packaging QIDI approves: improper packaging “may void the warranty and result in charges.” Keep the tracking number, because QIDI is not responsible for packages a carrier loses.
QIDI’s support team works Monday to Saturday, 08:30 to 17:00 China time (GMT+8), which falls in the US evening and night.
Who pays shipping on a QIDI warranty claim?
QIDI pays return shipping when the cause is a product defect, transit damage, a wrong item “or any seller fault”; otherwise the buyer pays. If QIDI tests a returned item and finds no issue, it deducts a shipping fee per item from the refund. The policies do not say who pays to ship a printer in for repair after the 14-day and 30-day windows, so ask support before you ship.
What if QIDI refuses the claim?
Ask QIDI in writing which exclusion it applied and what its test found. A refusal over missing paperwork is fixed by sending the order number or invoice. For excluded causes such as third-party accessories or skipped maintenance, QIDI says it “will not provide repair (or may charge for repair)”, so ask whether a paid repair is possible. QIDI keeps “the final right of interpretation” of the statement, though it also commits to longer periods where local law requires them.
Do you need to register a QIDI printer for warranty?
No. Neither QIDI’s Warranty Statement nor its after-sales policy has a registration step; cover runs from the date of receipt. Leave the serial number label in place, because the warranty excludes altered, damaged or removed labels and serial numbers.
