Creality warranty: how long it lasts, what it covers and how to claim

A Creality 3D printer bought in the US is covered for 12 months. Its hotend kit, extruder kit and door or top glass panel get 3 months, and consumables such as nozzles and the flexible build plate get none. This page summarizes the policy in force since August 1, 2026.

A Creality 3D printer bought in the US has a 12-month warranty from the day after delivery. The hotend kit, extruder kit and front door or top glass panel get 3 months, and nozzles and the flexible build plate get none.

Everything here is from Creality’s policy as published on October 23, 2026. Creality can change it, so read the current version before you file. This is not legal advice.

How long is the Creality warranty?

The Creality warranty lasts 12 months on the complete machine in the US and every other country except the EU, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland, where it is 24 months. The hotend kit, extruder kit and front door or top glass panel get 3 months. Consumables such as nozzles and the flexible build plate get no warranty.

Part (FFF printers) Warranty in the US
Complete machine: every main component not listed below 12 months
Hotend kit (nozzle kit) 3 months
Extruder kit, except the extruder gear 3 months
Front door kit and top glass panel 3 months
Nozzle, extrusion gear, magnetic flexible build plate, PTFE tube and connector, hotend silicone sleeve, nozzle wiper tape, carbon filter, desiccant, grease, glue stick, cutter None (consumables)
Tools, USB drive, storage card, spare nozzle, spare PTFE tube and other items included free None (gifts)

The policy does not list the mainboard, screen or motors separately, so they fall under the complete machine’s 12 months.

The clock starts the day after delivery, not on the order date. Creality measures the period “from the day after the customer receives the product until the time of reporting the issue”, so a fault reported in month 12 counts even if the fix comes later.

If a consumable or gift fails within the printer’s 12 months and Creality’s inspection finds a defect in materials or workmanship, Creality “may, at its sole discretion” replace the part.

Two versions of the policy are online. Creality’s US store still shows an older one (last updated August 12, 2025) that gave 3 months to the print platform, nozzle, heat break, heat block, belts and pulleys. The current policy does not say which version covers a printer bought before August 1, 2026. If your claim involves one of those parts, ask support which version applies.

What does the Creality warranty not cover?

Besides consumables, gifts and wear parts past 3 months, Creality refuses warranty service when:

  • there is no valid proof of purchase or serial number, or the serial label has been torn off or altered
  • the damage comes from installing or using the printer against the manual, or from liquid getting in
  • the printer was used in an environment it is not specified for, overloaded, or poorly maintained (moisture, mold)
  • the damage comes from fire, flood, lightning or another force majeure event
  • the printer was disassembled without authorization or repaired by a service point Creality has not authorized
  • the failure was “caused by using non-original parts or low-quality filaments”

Third-party firmware and unofficial modifications are excluded too. Does upgrading a 3D printer void the warranty? covers whether that costs you the rest of the warranty and what US law allows.

Do the K1 Max, K1C, K2 Plus and Ender-3 V3 have different warranties?

No. Creality’s policy sets one standard period for all its fused filament fabrication (FFF) printers and its CFS multi-color units. Creality’s US store lists the K1 Max, K1C and K2 Plus with “Up to 12-Month Warranty”.

Model Warranty in the US
K1 Max 12 months
K1C 12 months
K2 Plus 12 months
K2 Plus Combo (with CFS) 12 months for the printer and for the CFS
Ender-3 V3 and other Ender models 12 months

Every model’s wear parts and consumables follow the parts table above. The CFS has its own list:

  • 3 months: the filament feeding and unloading kit, front and rear tray drive shaft kits, drive and driven gears, tool head hub outlet assembly and filament rack kit
  • None: desiccant, PTFE tubes and connectors, and the cutter

Does Creality cover a printer bought on Amazon?

Yes, if the seller is an official Creality channel. The policy covers products sold through Creality’s own websites, “third-party platform flagship stores (Amazon/Shopify/TikTok, etc.)”, authorized online stores and authorized dealers. A printer from an unofficial seller falls outside its stated scope.

For a repair, contact the seller or Creality’s customer service first. Returns and exchanges of Amazon, eBay or Temu orders follow that platform’s rules, not Creality’s 14-day and 30-day windows. The policy says nothing about transferring the warranty to a second owner, but every claim needs the original proof of purchase and order number.

How do you claim the Creality warranty?

To claim the Creality warranty, open a ticket at support.creality.com or email [email protected]. Include the serial number, proof of purchase and order number, and describe the fault with photos, video or log files. Creality sends replacement parts and repair guides for an approved claim. A whole-printer exchange is limited to the first 30 days.

  1. Find the serial number. On K1-series printers it is on a white QR sticker on the back, left of the power switch. K2-series printers have it right of the power switch, and Ender models at the back of the base on the left. K1 and K2 printers, the Ender-3 V3 and newer models also show it under Settings > System > About. A CFS has its own serial number, printed only on its sticker.
  2. Collect the proof. Have the order number and the invoice or receipt ready. Film the fault happening: Creality asks for “videos, photos, log files, etc.” that demonstrate the problem.
  3. Open a ticket. Use the Creality support ticket form, which needs a Creality account, or email [email protected]. Creality’s US support line is +1 833 513 5012, and online chat runs Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM Pacific. Orders from Creality’s own store can also go to [email protected].
  4. Wait for the diagnosis. Creality’s after-sales team confirms whether the fault meets the warranty conditions before it sends parts or arranges a return.
  5. Ship back only when asked, in the original box. Creality may ask you to keep the defective part or return it at Creality’s cost.

Who pays shipping on a Creality warranty claim?

Creality does, for a quality fault inside the warranty period. The policy says it “will cover the round-trip shipping costs” for returns or exchanges due to quality issues. Packing is your job. Use the original box and packing, or you pay for transit damage and extra packaging.

What does Creality send for an approved claim?

Usually parts. Creality has no “unified global cross-regional repair service”. For an approved claim it provides “the corresponding replacement parts and official repair guidance tutorials”, and you fit them. Ask the seller or Creality support whether local repair exists where you live. If you caused the fault but the case still qualifies for free repair, you pay only for the parts.

A whole-printer exchange is possible only in the first 30 days after delivery, and only for transit damage the carrier confirms, a product that differs significantly from its description, or a fault that cannot be repaired. Within 14 days of delivery you can return a complete, undamaged printer for a refund.

What if Creality refuses the claim?

Ask support which exclusion it applied, and ask for the inspection result in writing. If the refusal was over missing paperwork, send the serial number and proof of purchase and ask for a review.

Do you need to register a Creality printer for warranty?

No. The current policy has no registration step: a claim needs valid proof of purchase, the serial number and the order number. Creality’s Warranty and Rights Inquiry page shows a serial number’s warranty status and lets you bind the printer to a Creality account. The check works only for selected models so far, and Creality says models it cannot find “are still eligible for standard warranty service.”

Does Creality offer an extended warranty?

Yes. Creality’s US store sells Product Protection plans, added at checkout with the printer. Xcotton runs them and AIG underwrites them; Creality’s plan policy says “we act solely as an intermediary.”

Plan Accidental damage and power surge cover Extra warranty after Creality’s 12 months
1 year 1 year None
2 years 2 years 1 year
3 years 3 years 2 years
  • The 1-year plan adds no warranty time, only accidental damage and power surge cover during Creality’s own 12 months.
  • Plans are for printers bought on Creality’s official website, so an Amazon purchase cannot add one.
  • The price varies by printer and term and is shown only at checkout.
  • Total claims are capped at the printer’s original purchase price.
  • You file through the link in the plan’s confirmation email. Creality diagnoses the fault and Xcotton reviews the claim.
  • You can cancel at any time. Within 60 days with no claims, the refund is the full plan price. After 60 days it is pro rata, minus paid claims and an administrative fee capped at $50.
  • Not covered: misuse, modifications, non-official parts, consumable wear, cosmetic damage and shipping damage.

3D printer extended warranties compares paid plans from other makers and retailers.

What is Creality Care?

Creality Care Extend Warranty is a separate add-on in Creality’s store, promising use “with confidence for up to 24 months”. It covers only printers bought from Creality’s store and must be bought while the printer is still in warranty. The listing names the K1 Max, K1C, K1, Ender-3 V3 SE and Ender-3 V3 KE. In October 2026 Creality’s Canadian store shows every option sold out, and the US store sells Product Protection instead.
