Elegoo warranty: how long it lasts, what it covers and how to claim

Elegoo's US warranty covers a new FDM printer for 12 months from the date the order was received, the extruder for 6 months, and consumables such as the nozzle, hot end and PEI plate not at all. This page quotes the policy and sets out how to claim and which extensions exist.

Elegoo covers a new filament (FDM) printer bought in the US for 12 months, counted from the date the original order was received. The extruder and printhead kit get 6 months. Consumables such as the nozzle, hot end, heater, thermistor, PTFE tube and PEI plate have no warranty.

The periods below come from the Refund & Warranty page on Elegoo’s US store, read on October 23, 2026. It carries no revision date, so check it before you file. Resin printers are not covered here.

How long is the Elegoo warranty?

The Elegoo warranty lasts 12 months for a new FDM printer bought in the US, counted from the date the original order was received. It covers the Neptune 3 and 4 series, the OrangeStorm Giga and the Centauri series. The extruder and printhead kit get 6 months, and nozzles, hot ends and build plates have no warranty.

Part Warranty
The machine, and every part the table does not list (mainboard, motors, frame, touchscreen) 12 months
Extruder, extruder kit, printhead kit 6 months; “Man-made damage is not included”
Nozzle or nozzle kit, hot end, heater, thermistor, PTFE tube No warranty
PEI platform plate, PEI magnetic platform kit, build plate No warranty
Packaging, user manual, tools No warranty
CANVAS feeder module: motherboard, feeder motor, five-way module, gearbox or cutter assembly, fan, housing, spool holder (not its support claws), 4-pin cable, communication board 12 months
CANVAS PTFE tube, wiper unit, support claws, accessories No warranty
Any pre-owned Elegoo printer No warranty

The policy does not say whether “the date the original order was received” means the day you ordered or the day the printer arrived. Keep both the order confirmation and the delivery record.

Outside the US, Elegoo’s EU store lists 24 months for the machine with the same part exceptions. Its Canadian store lists 12 months. Where local law sets a longer period, “the longer period will apply”. Elegoo “does not provide support outside the original region/country of purchase”, and service elsewhere is at your cost.

Are nozzles, hot ends and PEI plates covered?

Not by a warranty period of their own. Elegoo lists them as consumables with “No warranty”, but “we will gladly replace any consumable that fails due to a manufacturing defect, provided the printer itself is still under warranty.” Elegoo decides eligibility, and “such decisions shall be final.”

Parts bought separately follow the same table, so a spare extruder kit has 6 months and a spare hot end has none.

Does the warranty cover the Centauri Carbon and Neptune 4 Pro?

Yes. The table names the “Neptune 4/4 Pro/4 Plus/4 Max” and the “Centauri Series” without splitting the series by model, so both printers get the periods above. The CANVAS multi-color add-on for the Centauri Carbon has its own rows.

Do you need to register an Elegoo printer for the warranty?

No. The policy has no registration step, and the proof Elegoo asks for is “a valid receipt or invoice” from ELEGOO or an authorized distributor. Keep the order number for the claim form.

What does the Elegoo warranty not cover?

Six of the seven exclusions in Elegoo’s policy apply to FDM printers (the seventh concerns resin printer screens):

  • “Products not purchased from ELEGOO or authorized ELEGOO distributors with a valid receipt or invoice.”
  • Products that are lost or stolen.
  • Products whose warranty period has expired.
  • Free products, and products that have been refunded.
  • “Products repaired by a third party or modified by an individual.”
  • “Damage caused by external factors or misuse of products (including but not limited to resin leakage, falls, improper operation), normal discoloration, wear and tear, or other non-quality-related issues.”

The modification clause excludes the modified product itself, not only damage the modification caused. Does upgrading void the warranty covers what US law adds.

Two other rules can cost you coverage. Elegoo asks you not to repair a damaged product “without our guidance”. And on a return, “failure to follow our packaging instructions may void the warranty and result in additional charges.”

The policy says nothing about transfer to a second owner. It ties coverage to “the original order” and a valid receipt or invoice, and it gives pre-owned printers no warranty.

Does Elegoo honor the warranty on Amazon purchases?

Elegoo’s support form lists Amazon as a purchase channel. The policy’s test is a valid receipt or invoice from ELEGOO or an authorized ELEGOO distributor, so keep the Amazon invoice and check that Elegoo was the seller. Elegoo’s authorized reseller list has no US entry as of October 2026.

How do you claim the Elegoo warranty?

To claim the Elegoo warranty, fill in the Contact Support form on Elegoo’s US store with your order number, printer model and fault description, then attach photos or video. Support troubleshoots first and must approve any return before you ship. After the first 14 days the remedy is repair, with the fees paid by Elegoo.

  1. Gather the order details. Find the order number and the receipt or invoice. The form asks where you bought the printer: Amazon, Official Website, Authorized Distributor, AliExpress or Others.
  2. Record the fault. Take photos or a short video. The form accepts MP4, JPEG and PNG files; for anything over 20 MB it asks for a link from a cloud service such as Google Drive, Dropbox or WeTransfer.
  3. Submit the form. Open the Contact Support form, choose “Technical issues” and “FDM 3D Printers”, and describe the fault.
  4. Repair only as instructed. The policy says “Only perform repairs as instructed by our customer support team.”
  5. Ship only after approval. “All return requests must be pre-approved by our support team before shipping items back to our designated address.” Send the printer within 7 calendar days of approval, packed as Elegoo instructs, or the return may be refused.

Who pays shipping on an Elegoo warranty claim?

Elegoo pays return shipping on a quality fault reported within 14 days of receipt. After that, its table marks the column with a cross and names no payer, so ask support who pays before you ship.

When the fault is reported Remedy Return shipping Repair fees
Within 14 days of receipt Refund, replacement or repair Elegoo Elegoo
Later, within the warranty period Repair Not stated Elegoo
Out of warranty Repair Not stated Customer

Transit damage goes through the same 14-day window with “a carrier-issued damage report”. If you bought Worry-Free Delivery at checkout, you can claim with Seel, its insurer, instead: “the same issue on the same order cannot be claimed with both Seel and ELEGOO.” Missing items must be claimed within 30 calendar days of the shipping date.

What can you do if Elegoo refuses a warranty claim?

Ask support which exclusion the refusal rests on, and check it against the list above. Elegoo’s warranty comes “in addition to all rights and remedies” under local consumer law, so a refusal under the policy does not end those rights. Out of warranty, Elegoo still repairs the printer and you pay the repair fees.

Does Elegoo offer an extended warranty?

Elegoo’s US store offers one from a third party: the Seel Extended Warranty Service, “an optional value-added service provided by Seel”. It covers mechanical failure, electrical failure and accidental damage from drops, spills or impacts.

Only “certain printer models” are eligible, and Elegoo’s page lists neither the models nor a price. On a bundle, the plan covers the printer unit only.

Is there a Centauri Carbon warranty extension?

Not from Elegoo any more: its offer ran from November 10, 2025 to January 31, 2026. After delaying the Centauri Carbon’s multi-color system, Elegoo let “users who have already purchased the Centauri Carbon” pick one of three benefits. One was “A 365-day warranty extension for your Centauri Carbon (excluding consumable parts)”; the others were a $50 filament coupon and an $80 coupon toward the Centauri Carbon 2 Combo.

The US retailer MatterHackers sells an “Elegoo Centauri Series Extended 2 Year Warranty” ($99 in October 2026), and 3D printer extended warranties covers how retailer plans compare.
