Bambu Lab hotend warranty: which parts are covered, and for how long

The Bambu Lab hotend and nozzle have no warranty period, the extruder unit and AMS feeder units have 3 months, and most other parts have the full term: 2 years for a printer bought from Bambu Store US. This page sets out the part tables for every printer series and AMS model.

There is no warranty on a Bambu Lab hotend. Every printer series lists the hotend and each of its parts, nozzle included, under “No Warranty”. Bambu Lab may still replace one that fails from a manufacturing defect, but only while the printer itself is under warranty. You pay to clear a clog or replace a worn nozzle.

Everything below comes from Bambu Lab’s warranty statement (last updated September 22, 2026) and its per-series part tables, read on October 23, 2026. Bambu Lab can change both, so check the current pages before you file. It is not legal advice. For the general terms, see Bambu Lab warranty.

Is the Bambu Lab hotend covered by warranty?

The Bambu Lab hotend has no warranty period. Every Bambu Lab printer series lists the hotend and its parts, including the nozzle, hotend heating assembly and silicone sock, under “No Warranty”. Bambu Lab may still replace a hotend that fails from a manufacturing defect while the printer is in warranty, but the decision is at its discretion and final.

The warranty statement defines these consumables as parts “inherently subject to deterioration and wear out during the normal operation of the product”. It then sets the terms: “These items don’t have a warranty period, but we are happy to replace any of these items that fail due to manufacturing defects as long as the printer itself is in the warranty period. The decision of replacement for these items will be at Bambu Lab’s discretion and the decision will be final.”

So a hotend’s only coverage is borrowed from the printer. A heater that fails from a defect during the first 2 years of a printer bought from Bambu Store US may be replaced. After the printer’s warranty ends, the same failure has no route under the policy.

The No Warranty line differs by series:

  • X1, P1, A1, A2L and H2 series: “Complete Bambu Hotend and all its individual parts (Nozzle, Hotend Heating Assembly, Ceramic Heater, Thermistor and Silicone Sock for Hotend)”.
  • P2S: the same line, naming only the nozzle, hotend heating assembly and silicone sock.
  • X2D: the nozzle, hotend heating assembly and silicone sock as three separate No Warranty items.

The parts around the hotend get the full term. Every series lists the “Cooling Fan for Hotend” and the TH (toolhead) board in that group. The H2 series adds its induction hotend rack assembly and latch actuator. The X2D adds its hotend heating assembly connection board. The H2’s induction hotend latch itself has no warranty.

Does the warranty cover the Bambu Lab nozzle?

The nozzle has no warranty either. It is part of the hotend line on most series and a separate No Warranty item on the X2D. A worn nozzle fits Bambu Lab’s consumables definition, deterioration during normal operation, rather than a manufacturing defect. Signs of nozzle wear shows how to tell wear from a fault.

How long is the warranty on Bambu Lab parts?

Bambu Lab parts have one of three periods. Main components such as boards, motors, fans and the heatbed get the printer’s full term: 2 years for Bambu Store US purchases. The extruder unit and AMS feeder units get 3 months from receipt. Hotends, nozzles, build plates, extruder gears and PTFE tubes get no warranty.

“Full term” in the table means the general warranty period. Bambu Lab’s statement gives consumers 2 years in the United States, Canada, the EU, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland. Everywhere else it is 1 year. For the US and Canada, its transitional note limits the 2 years to “Products purchased by consumers through Bambu Store US and Bambu Store CA”. The per-series tables still head this column “12 Months”, the base term that the note extends.

Part Period Where it applies
Hotend (heating assembly, ceramic heater, thermistor, silicone sock) No warranty Every printer series
Nozzle No warranty Every printer series
Cooling fan for hotend, TH board Full term Every printer series
Extruder unit 3 months X1, P1, A1 and A2L (excluding the gear assembly and filament sensor); H2 dual extruder unit; X2D auxiliary extruder
Extruder motor or extruder servo motor Full term Every printer series
Extruder gear assembly No warranty Every printer series
Build plates No warranty Every printer series
PTFE tube and connector No warranty Every printer table except the X2D’s, which does not list them
Filament cutter No warranty Every printer series; the cutter lever is full term
AMS, AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT main unit (mainboard, main frame, lids, power board) Full term Each model’s own table
AMS lite main unit (mainboard, housing, filament hub, feeder motor, stand) Full term AMS lite table
AMS, AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT feeder unit 3 months AMS and AMS 2 Pro exclude the feeder funnel
AMS lite feeder unit and rotary spool holder 3 months Excluding the spool claw and wear of the filament sensor magnet
AMS PTFE tubes, desiccant, feeder funnels, support shaft assemblies, AMS lite spool claw No warranty Each AMS model, as its table lists them

Three rules decide how these periods run:

  • The 3 months start at delivery. The statement offers service on these parts “within the first 3 months of receiving the product.”
  • A replacement part does not restart the clock. “In case we have provided a replacement part, the warranty does not reset, and the original warranty period still applies.” A whole product replaced within 30 days of delivery is different: its warranty “starts from the date of receipt of the replacement product.”
  • A spare part bought on its own has no stated period. The statement gives a general period to printers, AMS units, laser modules and the cutting module. Its 30-day return window still covers any product received with “critical failures, manufacturing defects, or any functionality issues.”

Is the Bambu Lab AMS covered by warranty?

Every AMS model is covered. Bambu Lab’s statement gives the AMS, AMS lite, AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT the same general period as a printer, so one bought from Bambu Store US gets 2 years. Each table covers electronics and frame for the full term, heating units included where the model has them. Feeder units get 3 months. Tubes, funnels and desiccant get nothing.

The hub that joins the AMS to the printer sits on the printer’s table, not the AMS’s. The X1 and P1 series list the AMS Hub as a main component, and the A1 series lists the AMS Lite Filament Hub, both at the printer’s full term.

Bambu Lab AMS lite warranty

The AMS lite gets the full term on its mainboard, housing assembly, filament hub unit, feeder motor, stand, feeder cap, feeder support and 4-pin cable. Its feeder unit and rotary spool holder get 3 months, with two exclusions in the table: the spool claw and “wear of the Filament Sensor Magnet in the Filament Funnel”. The filament funnel units, spool claw, PTFE tube and desiccant have no warranty.

What if a Bambu Lab hotend fails while the printer is under warranty?

Open a support ticket before you buy a replacement or take the toolhead apart. A clog does not count as a defect, so rule one out first.

  1. Rule out a clog. The return section of Bambu Lab’s warranty statement calls “a clogged hotend/extruder” a “non-defective item”, and you pay the shipping if you return one in the first 30 days. If it is a clog, clear it or fit a new hotend yourself.
  2. Open a ticket at bambulab.com/support. Every warranty case goes through that page. Attach a receipt from Bambu Lab or an authorized distributor. Add photos, video or log files that show the fault.
  3. Wait before you repair. The statement asks owners to “open a ticket first for support and do repairs only if instructed by the customer support team.” Once Bambu Lab confirms a free replacement, you fit it yourself.
  4. Expect a final answer. Bambu Lab replaces a consumable at its discretion, and “the decision will be final.” A replacement hotend keeps the printer’s original warranty end date.

If Bambu Lab refuses, or the printer’s warranty has ended, you pay for the new hotend. A third-party hotend carries its own risk: Bambu Lab excludes damage that a third-party accessory causes, along with the parts it damages. See whether upgrading voids the warranty for how far that clause reaches. The statement also says its terms do not affect rights you have under the law of your state or jurisdiction. Bambu Lab warranty claims walks through the full claim process.
